The Fire Station sells both recreational and medicinal marijuana. But you may find yourself wondering, “Do I need a medical marijuana card to shop there?” The answer is no. Anyone ages 21+ from any state can shop with us, so long as they provide a valid government-issued ID (driver’s license, state ID card, tribal ID, military ID card, passport, or passport card.) Customers 18+ with a valid medical marijuana card can also shop with us.
Though we have many locations across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, our Negaunee location is the only store that sells both recreational and medical cannabis.
Did you know? If you sign up for our loyalty program, you can collect and redeem loyalty points on any medical or recreational purchase from TFS. Medical customers, who shop recreationally, are also eligible for a 15% discount (not stackable with other discounts) on every order.
How to get your medical marijuana card:
The Michigan Medical Marijuana Program (MMMP) is a state registry program within the Cannabis Regulatory Agency. The program administers the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act as approved by Michigan voters (2008).
To obtain your Michigan Medical Marijuana card, you must first be a patient without a caregiver. Your physician must also certify your use of medical marijuana via one of the following: the physician’s online account, or; an uploaded copy of a physician completed (within the last six months) MMMP Physician Certification form. You can then follow the instructions to apply for a ‘Patient Only Registry Card.’ Click here to create your secure online account, submit an application, and view more resources.

Why get your medical marijuana card?
- Lower costs. Let’s use a vape pen as an example. A medical customer can get a 1g product for $25*, where as a recreational customer will get it for $30*. *Taxes apply. Prices and availability of products listed are subject to change.
- Lower age restriction. Customers 18 years of age or older and that have a valid medical marijuana card can shop with us (only at our Negaunee location). Customers without a medical marijuana card can shop recreationally if they are at least 21 years of age or older.
- Access to medical-only cannabis. Patients with qualifying conditions can access medical-only cannabis online or in-store. Medicinal cannabis typically has a strong potency. Tell your budtender what you are looking for in a product and they can make recommendations specific to your needs.

Frequently asked questions
Do you take out of state medical marijuana cards?
Answer: Yes! Medical customers from other states may provide their out-of-state medical marijuana card and valid government-issued state ID card from the corresponding state to shop our medical products.
Print outs of any kind do not meet state requirements at this time. Thank you for your understanding. We are also open for recreational customers at all locations with proof of a valid, government-issued ID card.
How much cannabis can I purchase in a day?
Answer: According to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs:
(a) For a registered qualifying patient, an amount of marihuana product that does not, in total, exceed 2.5 ounces per day.
(b) For a registered primary caregiver, an amount of marihuana product that does not, in total, exceed 2.5 ounces per day for each registered qualifying patient with whom he or she is connected through the department’s registration process.
(c) For an individual 21+, an amount of marihuana product that does not, in total, exceed 2.5 ounces per day.
