Working daily to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all.
Pride month is a time for individuals and organizations to celebrate and recognize the LGBTQIA+ community. While The Fire Station works every day to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for all customers and staff, we see Pride Month as an opportunity to especially highlight our support for this community.
Here are some ways that TFS is supporting and celebrating Pride Month:
- Pride-themed visuals and decor
- Partnership with LGBTQ+ organizations and events
- Inclusive language and staff training
Celebrating Pride Month allows for TFS to demonstrate our support for the LGBTQIA+ community and strengthen the overall sense of belonging, acceptance and community within the cannabis space. We are dedicated to creating and maintaining meaningful connections, raising awareness, and supporting all of the communities that we serve.
Pride Month-themed visuals and decor
Our stores have been invited to decorate with vibrant pride-themed colors and artwork to foster a festive atmosphere.
Partnership with LGBTQ+ organizations and events
The Fire Station will be supporting pride events throughout the Upper Peninsula. If you’re looking to join the festivities, check out these events:
- Keweenaw Pride Fest: June 1, 2024, Houghton, Michigan
- Pride UP: June 8, 2024, Ironwood, Michigan
- U.P. Pride Fest: June 8, 2024, Marquette, Michigan
- Tie Dye for Pride: June 19, 2024, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan
Inclusive language and staff training
Two of The Fire Station’s core values are diversity and inclusion. We tie these values to everything we do, such as our requirement for employees to complete a Diversity in the Workplace training upon hire and our company-wide kindness policy.
These staff resources help to maintain a welcoming environment for all customers and employees. Our core values also guide us to supporting local events that follow the same values, such as the local pride events listed above.
